Based in Zeebrugge, the Logistics Operations Support Lead assists the Logistics Operations Manager in the management of the day-to-day operations in Zespri’s Zeebrugge 3PL (Third party logistics) hub; ensuring a consistent, transparent and efficient operation. Ultimately the Logistics Operations Support Lead strives to ensure Zeebrugge is best in class and seamlessly moves our kiwifruit to our customers and consumers.

 

This role reports into the Operations & Logistics Manager and has one direct report (Packhouse Officer).

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Co-own daily operations of the 3PL in Zeebrugge, including vessel and container discharge.
  • Manage site capacity, cross-functional communication, and operational costs.
  • Oversee maintenance budgets and improvements for the Greefa project.
  • Ensure production line efficiency and transparency.
  • Play an active role in discussions between IBP and sales.
  • Advocate for GEMBA in the production facility.
  • Support fruit optimization and customer support teams.
  • Build a health and safety culture.
  • Collaborate with the 3PL partner and manage the Zeebrugge Operations Team.

We are looking for a high performing manager who has a passion for people and supply chain who will bring positive dynamics to the Supply Chain team. We require a top communicator who excels in stakeholder management and also 

 

  • 8-10 years’ experience in Supply Chain/Production environment 
  • Lean Six Sigma qualification
  • Leadership and team management 
  • Proficiency in English and Dutch
  • An ability to travel nationally and across Europe
  • Line or team management experience
  • Understanding of product handling and storage practices (preferably in fruit/fresh produce/FMCG)
  • Practical knowledge of production line efficiency and balancing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to understand information and data and use this to make decisions
  • Time management skills and is very results driven
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • High standard of personal integrity
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree (Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management) or equivalent
