Kō wai mātou? Who are we?
Zespri is more than simply the world's single-largest marketer of kiwifruit. We like to think of ourselves as fruit on a mission and as rebels with a cause: to help people, communities and the environment around the world thrive through the goodness of kiwifruit. We are proudly the world's largest marketer of kiwifruit, selling kiwifruit in more than 50 countries. We work with around 2,800 New Zealand and 1,500 international growers and post-harvest companies to source the best-quality Zespri Kiwifruit which we supply through our distribution partners to wholesale and retail customers. We are one of New Zealand's best-known international brands, dedicated to creating sustainable long-term value for growers.
He aha te mahi? What's the role?
At Zespri, we are proud to deliver the world’s best kiwifruit to consumers across the globe. Our business is highly seasonal, fast-moving, and complex - so getting demand and supply planning right is critical. As Supply & Demand Planning Lead, you will play a pivotal role in balancing supply, demand, cost, service levels, and value across our Asia Pacific markets.
You will lead Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes that support sound, commercial decision-making and deliver strong financial outcomes. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role with influence. You will work cross functionally - guiding conversations, challenging assumptions, and helping leaders focus on the most important risks and opportunities through the planning cycle.
Key accountabilities include:
- Leading Integrated Business Planning: Coordinate and run weekly and monthly IBP cycles, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, and financial outcomes across multiple stakeholders and geographies.
- Demand planning: Develop constrained demand forecasts using market intelligence from commercial teams, and support longer-term strategic demand planning.
- Supply planning: Create intercompany replenishment plans that optimise supply, logistics capacity, inventory, lead times, service levels, and cost-to-serve.
- Business partnering: Build strong, trusted relationships across functions while constructively challenging assumptions to improve the quality of decisions.
- Performance & insight: Contribute to KPIs and scorecards, analyse root causes, and drive continuous improvement across forecast accuracy, inventory health, service levels, and cost.
- Continuous improvement: Embed core planning processes, lift IBP maturity, support financial integration, and ensure planning systems are optimised with minimal manual intervention.
This role can be based in Japan (Tokyo) or Korea (Seoul).
Ko wai koe? Who are you?
You are a proactive, results-driven supply chain professional who thrives in fast-paced, international environments. You will bring:
- A degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or finance (postgraduate or supply chain certification like CSCP is a plus).
- 5+ years’ hands-on experience in supply chain planning (demand & supply), ideally with financial acumen.
- Advanced skills in demand and supply planning systems (e.g., SAP IBP, APO).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills - fluent in English and Japanese or Korean (additional languages a bonus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for tackling both financial and operational challenges.
- Experience working in international or matrix organisations.
- Change management skills and a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement.
- A customer-centric mindset, business acumen, and a desire to keep developing your own skills.
If you are ready to make a real impact in a global business, and help shape the future of fresh produce supply chains, we’d love to hear from you!
