What's the role?

 

We are looking for a Financial Planning Analyst to join our global Finance team. This is a key role which is primarily supporting market financial activities and works on global reporting, supporting market timetables and exercises, management of rolling forecast process and monthly management reporting. The Financial Planning Analyst will also assist and support the budget and year end process with Head of Commercial Finance and Financial Planning teams. 

 

Based in Tokyo, your key accountabilities will include;

 

  • Develop, enhance, maintain budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Coordinate financial planning activities 
  • Proactively provide advice, analysis and financial information to Head of Finance, Commercial Manager and Business Partners to assist with decision making and optimisation of results
  • Monitor and review markets results versus budget and forecast
  • Produce accurate short term cash flow forecasts for the region
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement best practices and process improvements
  • Participate in adhoc projects as and when requested 
  • Consolidate monthly and forecast commentary from functions heads and summarized into a report
  • Mange key finance deliverables in accordance with local market and global calendar

 

 

Who are you?

 

You will be a self-starter who is detail orientated, and meticulous in their work. You will be proficient in downloading, organising, modelling and reporting on complex data and have the ability to understand and model scenarios. You will also meet the following selection criteria:

 

  • Bachelor degree major in accounting/finance (or equivalent)
  • 8+ years finance experience
  • Experience in a market-led FMCG company and/or distribution group is highly regarded
  • Competence in Microsoft office, with strong Excel skills (including Functions and Pivot Tables expert); EPM and Analysis
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP financial modules (or at least similar tier 1 ERP system) will be an advantage
  • Strong commercial acumen, cognisant with up-to-date business models and best practice financial principles
  • Advanced analytical skills allowing for the breakdown and understanding of various forms of information to aid good judgement and decision-making
  • An independent contributor who is self-motivated and pro-active; Can-do attitude.
