He aha te mahi? What's the role?

As Senior Global Market Research Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how Zespri uses data and insight to guide brand, marketing, and commercial decisions across global markets. Sitting at the heart of our Market Research function, this role owns the end‑to‑end analytics workflow - bringing together consumer, brand, product, and media data to generate clear, actionable insights that drive real business value.

As part of the global team, you’ll partner closely with teams across Asia, Europe, and beyond, using Power BI as the core analytics and visualisation platform. This is a senior, hands‑on role that blends technical capability with strong analytical judgement and stakeholder engagement.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Analytics Strategy & Framework Ownership:  Lead the ongoing evolution of the Analytics Measurement Framework, ensuring it is clear, consistent, and fit for business decision making. Engage with stakeholders to shape business questions, analytical approaches, and outputs.
  • Analytics Coordination & Integration:  Coordinate analytics delivery across the analyst community, driving joined up insights across markets. Reduce duplication, improve consistency, and lift the overall effectiveness of analytical outputs.
  • Analytics & Insight Generation:  Own the full analytics lifecycle, from data ingestion and validation through to insight generation and delivery. Connect insights across multiple datasets to answer business questions and inform strategic decisions.
  • Data & Visualisation:  Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards aligned to business needs. Apply best practice in data modelling and visual storytelling to enable clear, actionable insights.
  • Modelling & Advanced Analytics:  Support data ingestion, modelling, scenario analysis, and validation. Build models or use AI/advanced analytics to address business challenges, where appropriate.
  • Global Measurement & Capability Enablement:  Translate global measurement frameworks and learnings into practical, scalable analytics outputs for regional and local stakeholders.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination:  Work with internal teams and external agencies to manage data inputs, resolve data issues, validate outputs, and maintain data quality across the analytics workflow.

Ko wai koe? Who are you?

You’re a strategic minded analyst who enjoys working with complexity and ambiguity, and who knows how to turn data into insight that influences decisions - not just dashboards. You will also bring:

  • Minimum of 5–7+ years’ experience in advanced analytics, ideally within market research, marketing, or commercial environments.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior and non technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced Power BI expertise (data modelling, DAX, and intuitive dashboard design).
  • Working proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and core statistical modelling techniques (e.g. regression, clustering).
  • Strong analytics literacy with less emphasis on deep technical or engineering skills, and greater focus on analytical judgement and effective application of tools to solve business problems.
  • Experience translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform business decision‑making at multiple levels.
  • Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to address business questions and influence outcomes.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset.
  • Familiarity with market research tools and methodologies (preferred); experience with AI or advanced analytics is a bonus.
  • Bachelor’s degree majoring in statistics, mathematics, computing, business analytics or related fields (Master’s degree is preferred).
