About The Role




This position reports to Global Marketing Capabilities and Media Lead with primary responsibilities of managing the key deliverables of the Global Media COE. This role is expected to provide leadership and guidance to the regions and markets on the Integrated Planning Process and media templates to the respective regions/markets. This person needs to be a subject matter expert on media (including digital) and have the leadership abilities to be able to work with key marketing and cross-functional stakeholders to inform the marketing plans. This role will also have the responsibility of elevating the digital capabilities of the entire marketing organization and moving Zespri towards digital transformation.

This position will need to embody Zespri’s values particularly with being results driven and cultivating personal relationships. Equally important is the ability to be agile, provide swift support, and have the leadership skills to develop close working relationships with the markets, cross-functional, and agency teams.







o    Driving efficiency and effectiveness of our media budget globally
o    Provide thought-leadership in the Integrated Planning Process of embodying a channel-led planning approach that puts media at the heart of the campaign strategy
o    Develop a Zespri Measurement Framework that encompasses the best practices in measurement and identifying key metrics and KPIs across the media journey
o    Ensure the deployment and practice of the Global Media Strategy, actively guiding the markets on their respective media strategy and plans
o    Drive visibility of media budgets, savings and performance across markets for leadership stakeholders
o    Accelerate Zespri’s digital transformation by guiding marketing, cross-functional teams, and agency partners on elevating how we approach digital media and data across paid, owned, and earned channels
o    Work with an agency partner to develop formal digital capabilities training modules for the marketing and cross-functional teams
o    Ensure that the Zespri Measurement Framework provides clear guidance on digital paid, owned, and earned KPIs working closely with markets on the right measurement plan
o    Work closely with Digital Marketing Team in fulfilling Zespri’s Data Driven Marketing roadmap by improving the quality and methodology of capturing data, and ensuring it translates to actionable insights
o    Drive a channel-led content approach to building digital campaigns working closely with Brand Development team on key projects

o    Manage the global media agency relationship and negotiations
o    Ensure agency network is operating seamlessly and efficiently in accordance with their SOW outlined in the MSA, and elevating the quality of the media plans and buys across the markets
o    Manage Savings Tracker output from Global Media Agency ensuring that data is well-captured and accurate with opportunity areas clearly identified
o    Track the measurement of media efficiency and effectiveness as it pertains to the Agency KPI and PBR calculations
o    Manage any areas of discord stemming from the Agency deliverables for the regions or markets
o    Lead on operational matters such as WIP meetings and financial reconciliation

o    Be the main point-of-contact for the Zespri markets and regional hubs, and be seen as a valuable Media COE partner
o    Ensure that markets are on-board and understand the global media strategy 
o    Support markets and align on their briefs and media strategy development
o    Raise the quality of the media and measurement plans across the board
o    Help marketing teams to find solutions for gaps with agency relationship or deliverables



Qualifications & Experience




•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communication, Marketing or similar
•    At least 8yrs in the in a media agency or media operations role from the client-side with experience in working across multiple markets, with at least 4 yrs in a leadership position.
•    Experience in media planning across traditional and digital media. Media buying experience across touchpoints is beneficial, but not essential. This person, however, will be expected to understand the buying principles and models across the touchpoints
•    Comfortable coordinating with multiple stakeholders (including senior stakeholders) across different functions for information or project needs, and ensuring action items are delivered against 
•    Strong project management capability to ensure timelines, budget, and deliverables are met
•    Strong communication skills and able to articulate directions in a clear and concise manner
