About The Role
The Brand Development Manager, APAC is a regional brand custodian, reporting to the Head of Marketing APAC. The ambition of this role is to help grow one meaningful and globally consistent brand, effectively and efficiently within the region of APAC. This person will drive the development of brand communication platform and integrated campaign for lead market Japan for 2024, delivering key assets with possible adaptation at a local level. This person will also supporting the communications planning process, which includes the touchpoint strategy, and management of creative agency. This position will need to work collaboratively with local marketing managers on asset development and business needs, the global brand development team to ensure brand consistency, and other heads of regional brand development. At the same time, will be an active contributor to Global coordinated projects and interact with the rest of Brand Development team, (Global Center of Excellence and Regional Brand Development Managers) in shaping the brand identity and personality.
This position will also need to embody Zespri’s values – looking after future generations, results-driven, and cultivating personal connections. Accountabilities
• Be able to communicate the Brand Promise in a compelling and inspiring way, ensuring that it is embedded in all we do in Marketing
• Lift the marketing capabilities for the region
• Be the voice of the consumers to ensure we are having consumer-centric approach in all our marketing efforts
• Support defining and implementing an efficient and effective regional operating model to enable business and brand growth in APAC
• Lead and oversees the integrated communications plan to land in JP (possibly rolling out to KR and SG).
This includes:
o Development of Brand Communication Platform and Season 2024 Campaign Idea
o Delivering impactful and integrated brand experience for our consumers through close collaboration between creative and media partners
o Delivery of final communication assets to the markets
• Work closely with the Global Brand Development team to:
o Ensure the brand is represented correctly in the region, led by the Brand Compass and Global Communication Platform
o Be the voice of the region when collaborating on globally-led brand development projects (e.g. global asset development, refinement of brand toolkits, input into long-term brand strategy)
• Work closely with JP and KR marketing managers to:
o Understand the consumer and market needs to be able to identify where are the local market flexes in the integrated communications plan
o Facilitate feedback and alignment on integrated communications plan
o Facilitate feedback and alignment on ATL assets
o Ensure that creative and media outputs land in the local markets
o Ensure the regional hub drives the efficiency and effectiveness in every business & marketing operations.
• Work with other Heads of Regional Brand Development in sharing of best-practices and learnings
• Oversees the creative agency relationship (Dentsu Japan) by:
o Development and alignment of agency SOW with Japan team
o Delivering of agency output, ensuring smooth alignment process with all stakeholders
o Creative Agency output: Creative assets for the season
• This role is expected to deliver on the following KPIs for Japan and Korea:
o Link test scores that meet the defined action standards
o Brand Power Target
o Brand Premium Target
o Brand Penetration Target
o Unaided awareness target/Brand saliency
o Delivery of projects within expected timings and approved budgets
Qualifications & Experience
• Around 8 to 10 years in a marketing role in consumer goods (food category an added bonus), with experience in a multi-market capacity (at least 3yrs worth)
• Strong project management capability to ensure timelines, budget, and deliverables are met
• Experience in Consumer (or Shopper) research (Quanti and Quali) is mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder skills, comfortable with managing multiple stakeholders of all levels and different functions.
• People Management Experience minimum 5 yrs.
• Strong analytical skill to lead the research & read the outcome
• Fluency in English and Japanese (both written and oral)
• Computer skills including Powerpoint, Excel, Word
