Based in Ho Chi Minh, we are seeking for a Shopper Marketing Executive to optimize long-term returns to growers and Zespri by developing and implementing marketing plans and campaigns to drive the sales of Zespri Kiwifruit in Vietnam. This position will support the Brand Manager, Vietnam, to grow the kiwifruit category and maintain differentiation of the Zespri Brand to command a price premium. This includes:
 

  • Developing & executing shopper-facing marketing activities with excellence to deliver sales targets & marketing objectives in the evolving Vietnam market.  
  • Evaluating and responding to shopper insights, market conditions, and competitor activities.
  • Assisting with the implementation of other Vietnam marketing activities, as required. 
  • Supporting & collaborating on the marketing for other APAC markets, as required.

Core Responsibilities


1. Support the Brand Manager & work in conjunction with the Market team in developing, executing, and optimizing shopper marketing activities in Vietnam.

  • Support the Brand Manager to deliver a 5-year long-term shopper marketing strategy in line with the overall marketing objectives for longer-term brand growth.
  • Develop shopper marketing strategy & execution, such as Channel Strategy, Price-Pack architecture, Package Design, In-store Promotions, POS materials, Fruit Sampling activities, and FMD.
  • Develop & execute marketing and trade activities, which may include activation, new product launches, consumer promotion, trade promotion, trade events/tours, and display programs in stores to maximize brand and sales objectives and  Analyze the impact of the activities for assessment and evaluation.
  • Contribute to joint business planning and top-to-top customer meetings led by the market development team (distributors, retailers and wholesalers).
  • Contribute to key account retail shopper marketing programs with market development team to deliver the most effective & efficient content/program within budget. 
  • Design the guidelines for shopper communication in e-commerce for the market and increase online visibility in conjunction with the market development team.

 

2. Support in-store Sustainability initiatives

  • Understand market, customer, consumer & shopper requirements on the sustainability goals in conjunction with subject matter expertise in Zespri’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) team.
  • Assist Brand Manager with the in-store Sustainability solution offerings in the fruit category. 
  • Collect information on distributor packaging materials to evaluate Zespri’s sustainability footprint, as required

 

3. Support in conducting shopper research & market analysis 

  • Assist the Brand Manager in managing market shopper research (to deepen our understanding and infuse the key learnings into the shopper strategy & plan development.
  • Collaboratively develop market analysis by utilizing available customer POS/sales data to provide the most effective in-store promotions for various channel and store types.
  • Collect, monitor, evaluate and regularly report on Zespri’s & competitor shopper marketing activities.

 

4. Drive Return on Marketing Investment to maximize the use of shopper marketing budget.

  • Manage the delivery of assigned marketing activities within the agreed budget.
  • Assist in developing the ROMI processes in shopper marketing activities and drive continuous efficiency & effectiveness. 

 

5. Other Marketing tasks:

  • Support the implementation of other marketing activities assigned by line manager.
  • Assist the Brand Manager on marketing activities in Brand communication as required.
  • Raise & manage purchase requisitions & purchase orders for all Vietnam Marketing activities in SAP.
  • Support & collaborate on the marketing for other APAC markets, as required.

 

6. Build Capability of self and others

  • Contribute to a winning Vietnam sales & marketing team culture with strong collaboration and a growth mindset. 
  • Build strong below-the-line agency relationships through regular feedback sessions for them & ourselves. 
  • Build, foster and embrace collaboration with regional APAC team. 

Key Result Area

 

  • Deliver the strongest possible brand (Awareness, Brand Power, Brand Premium) and financial performance within the Market Development Framework strategy and maximise growth opportunities across Vietnam. This includes supporting the tray volume sell out of Zespri Kiwifruit in Vietnam and driving penetration growth.
  • Track, analyse and optimize shopper marketing investment while delivering marketing activity within agreed budget.
  • Monitor the results of the marketing activity, recommending changes and implementing improvements to strengthen the Zespri Brand preference to support the premium price position.

We are looking for a strong team player who has solid working experience in the In-Shopper Marketing or Trade Marketing scene. Being highly adaptable with good communication skills will be the key to success and you will also possess:
 

  • 3-5 years’ Shopper or Trade Marketing experience in FMCG. 
  • In-store Marketing activity project lead experience minimum 3 years. Full agency control & internal process management experience are mandatory. 
  • Robust Experience in POS analysis with strong analytical skill is mandatory. 
  • Experience in cross-functional teams (sales/market development and/or supply chain/finance) is mandatory. 
  • Experience or capability to work effectively with global/regional marketing team is mandatory. 
  • Experience working with retailers/distributors to implement instore marketing in Vietnam highly desirable.
  • Quantitative and/or Qualitative market research experience is desirable. 
  • Fluency in Vietnamese & English (both written and speaking)
  • Experience & knowledge about agriculture, fruit or other food businesses is an advantage.
  • Experience with SAP an advantage
