He aha te mahi? What's the role?
Based in Shanghai, the Strategy Analyst will work closely with the Head of Strategy to support the development and execution of the Greater China strategy. This role will contribute to enabling and facilitating strategy delivery, as well as embedding key strategic enablers across the business. The individual will play a critical role in building market and business intelligence frameworks, refining industry and business analytics, and supporting process mapping and development initiatives. In addition, the role involves coordinating cross-functional projects and taking ownership of specific project outcomes, as required.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the development of annual and long-term strategic plans (e.g., 5-year and 10-year plans)
- Conduct competitor intelligence gathering and analysis
- Map internal and external market forces impacting the business
- Deliver ad hoc analytical projects to support strategic decision-making
- Liaise with the Global Strategy function on strategic forums, projects, and planning cycles
- Provide support on strategic and financial projects, including ad hoc initiatives
- Develop market analytics, factsheets, and foundational data sets
- Support cross-functional programs and project execution
- Contribute to “Horizon” planning and forward-looking strategic initiatives
- Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by Greater China management

We are looking for a strong team player with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial functions (sales or marketing). Being result driven with strong problem solving skills will be the key to success, and you will also possess:
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Business or a related discipline
- Exposure to regional commercial business development and analytics is preferred
- Prior experience participating in special business project taskforces is an advantage
- Demonstrated experience in project management and business development
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain networks both internally and externally
- Well-structured thinking with strong organizational capabilities; skilled in initiating and managing business projects
- Proven ability to develop business plans and familiarity with strategic planning frameworks
- Solid financial acumen, with the ability to manage project performance, including channel/ territory KPIs and P&L
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and process mapping tools
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to manage and manipulate large datasets
