What's the role?
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our team in Shanghai on a fixed term contract until January 2026. This key role will be responsible for providing financial and strategic support, financial analysis, guidance, and insight to the Zespri business.
The primary responsibility of the Finance Business Partner will be to partner with the business functions and act as a first point of contact for all finance matters in Asia. Partnering closely with the business teams to understand their needs and challenges, provide financial analysis, insights and recommendations to enable effective decision-making and delivery of the business plan.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Provide commercial leadership, challenge and bring rigor to the business and act as a key contact point in China.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Cost Centre managers on forecasting and budgeting activities and ensure data integrity of Financial data inputs
- Act a trusted business partner who understands customer needs and value drivers in Zespri structure, including familiarity with grower vs shareholder return calculations, customer profitability calculations, and financial models
- Partner with function leadership and business teams to develop and execute initiatives consistent with the regional plan and lead engagement to understand strategic objectives and align finance support to achieve delivery of the objectives
- Develop, enhance, and maintain reporting of performance measures as well as provide insights that improve decision making
- Monitor and analyze key financial and operational metrics, and communicate trends and variances to the business team
- Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Develop business cases, analyzing their strategic fit, challenging the key assumptions and providing recommendations, analysis of business implications and risks/benefits
- Provide advice, guidance, analysis and insights to support across the business functions to improve profitability, increase revenue, decrease costs
- Drive continuous improvement ethos and simplification within the business functions and develop & maintain reporting of initiatives
- Support the Commercial Manager to achieve the objectives of the region and collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects to drive business growth and efficiency
- Partner with the Commercial Finance Manager to plan & execute market growth strategy, support business case development and track benefit realization for GC projects
Who are you?
We are looking for a strong team player who has a solid finance/background experience and wants to an impact within our business. By utilising your business partnering experience, you will also have:
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Proven track record of providing financial guidance and support to business leaders
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Knowledge of ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with business stakeholders
• Experience in the FMCG industry, with a focus on fresh produce or agriculture, is highly desirable
• A relevant Bachelors degree in either Finance or Accounting
• Ability to communicate well in English (both written and verbal)
