What's the role?

 

Based in Shanghai, we are seeking a Brand Manager to optimise long-term returns to growers and Zespri from the Zespri portfolio of cultivars and products. By developing and implementing meaningful marketing plans and campaigns you will continue to build brand and drive the sales of Zespri Kiwifruit in China.


China is the biggest single market for Zespri with more than 27% volume contribution, a high CAGR and high potential for further growth.  Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, you will assist selling kiwfruit through strong demand creation where brand is the key.  This requires continuous strategy and execution excellence for China team therefore the Brand Manager will effectively manage the brand to capture the opportunity in the high competition of fruit category in China.


Partnering with the Marketing Manager to deliver China marketing and business objectives through, the Brand Manager will:

 

  • Support line manager to lead the strategy development for brand communications cross key campaigns (season start and MAF) to build Zespri as the No.1 brand in fruit category and the healthiest fruit in consumers’ minds.
  • Lead campaign planning and execution with good marketing skill and consumer insights across online digital communication and offline event engagement.
  • Coordinate within marketing team (brand development and media) and local cross functional teams (Trade Marketing and Sales) to ensure coherence of brand image and messaging to consumers in the China market. 
  • Collaborate to effectively connect the dots between building brand and selling fruit.
  • Develop bridging and execute an effective communication plan  with good understanding and management of the touch points across the consumer experience (online and offline). 
  • Sensitivity to competitors’ intelligence and insights to strengthen Zespri’ market leader position.
  • Advertising and Promotion effectiveness management: maximize impact to brand across consumer touch points through a combination of message and media impact, campaign wave under overall marketing calendar, working vs non – working plan. Work with line manager and finance for financial forecasting, financial updates and key indicators
  • Understand the brand with the capability to translate kantar report and ad hoc research planning into action.
  • Good communication and management for internal cross function and global depts, and external agencies.

Who are you?

 

We are looking for a strong team player who has strong working experience in brand communication (campaign, sales touch points). Being result driven with strong problem solving skills will be the key to success and you will also possess:

 

  • 5-8 years of relevant brand marketing experience in FMCG marketing in consumer categories (prefer food category)
  • Brand portfolio and product management knowledge and experience (preferred)
  • Project management capability in leadership and ownership from planning to execution
  • Good communication skill both internally and externally as a good team player
  • Fluency in English both written and oral
  • The capability to independently drive and deliver projects
  • A Bachelors degree majoring in marketing, business or similar (preferred)
