What's the role?
China is the biggest single market for Zespri with more than 27% volume contribution, a high CAGR and high potential for further growth. As part of the Zespri China Operations team, the Regional Hub Supervisor will work closely with the Sales team, Distributor Partners and Key Account Partners to oversee the end-to-end supply chain management of the central China region. This role will be responsible for the overall quality management of the region’s supply chain and to ensure customer satisfactions/fulfillment in line with Zespri's JBP.
Key Responsibilities
- Budgetary responsibility for Quality and Operation cost of the region - work with the Operations Manager to compile the annual Ops budget for the region, manage and track the region's Operations cost against budget targets, and optimize operations efficiency and effectiveness to minimise cost.
- Responsible for end-to-end Supply Chain Management of the region - Manage the region's end-to-end supply chain execution and fulfillment while developing and overseeing value-added services to drive sales & profitability.
- Total Quality Management of the region - Operate the region's supplier accountability program, provide training and technical assistance to customer staff and ZESPRI inter-check contractors, analyzing and informing customers about risky fruit to reduce loss, and assisting OM with regional insurance claims or quality outturn issues.
- Ensure customer satisfactions/fulfillment in line with JBP - align quality management execution with JBP quality management targets and investigate & analyse key drivers for customer quality requirements and satisfaction.
- Manage the regional regulatory stakeholders - Track & stay updated on regional regulatory requirements regarding food safety and market regulations affecting Zespri market operations, analyze provisional regulatory policies for specific food safety incidents, develop preventative and corrective plans for the Supply Chain management team to handle contingency situations, and build and maintain robust relationships with clearance agencies, 3PL, key customers, service providers, and company stakeholders.
- 6Build awareness for managing kiwifruit quality/infrastructure/process with Tier1/Tier2 customers/wholesalers/Club Z - Develop and implement inspirational engagement plans to build customer awareness and knowledge of kiwifruit quality, infrastructure, and processes, in collaboration with the operations team, while continuously checking and improving these plans and practices.
- Project management - Assist the Operations Manager with rollout operations projects and other ad hoc projects
Who are you?
We are looking for a strong team player with a strong background in Supply Chain or QA, who demonstrates a proven ability to think both strategically and analytically. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Preferably a tertiary qualification in science, business/commercial management or agriculture.
- Experience and competence in an operations or quality assurance management role.
- Strong background in food processing or production plant, especially on inventory, warehousing, quality and 3PL management roles.
- Good understanding and experience with Food Quality and Safety System, HACCP, GMP.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work with people from various cultures.
- Patience with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English is an added advantage.
