Join Zespri’s Quality team for the 2026 kiwifruit season.

 

Due to increased volumes, we are recruiting Product Assessors to join us on a fixed-term contract running from end of April/May through to the end of October. These roles work a rotating roster (including one weekend day per week), and shifts may start earlier or finish later depending on operational needs.

 

In this role, you’ll carry out product and facility quality assessments, audits and compliance checks across the season, working closely with industry partners and internal QA teams to support strong quality outcomes.

 

Based in the Bay of Plenty, you’ll travel to a range of facilities across the region (and may also support other areas as required).

 

About the role:

 

  • Carry out product and facility quality assessments, audits and compliance checks across the season.
  • Work closely with industry partners and internal QA teams to support strong quality outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate audit records and reports in line with Zespri quality systems.
  • Complete product assessments and verification activities in line with Zespri standards and quality systems.
  • Communicate findings clearly and escalate non-conformances where required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety requirements.
  • Support seasonal quality requirements through flexible, rostered working hours.

To be successful in this role, you will meet the following selection criteria:

 

  • Full NZ driver’s licence.
  • Ability to pass an eyesight test.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow processes and standards.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Computer literacy (e.g. Microsoft Office) and ability to enter data accurately.
  • Good written skills for completing audit records and reports.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours across the season (including rostered weekends).
  • Physically able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Kiwifruit industry experience is highly regarded, although not essential.
