What’s the role?

 

We are looking for a Regional Operations Supervisor to join our team in Newport Beach, CA. This is a key role in the Zespri Operations team, and plays the central interfacing, co-ordination and oversight role for Zespri inventory.  

 

The Regional Operations Supervisor works closely with the Asst. Operations Manager and 3PL partners to co-ordinate and ensure the efficient and smooth delivery and receipt of product into the Site warehouses and then to ensure product quality and production efficiencies are met and maintained throughout the supply chain. 

 

Key Responsibilities include: 

 

  • Oversight and monitoring of 3PL logistical activities - ensuring 3PLs execute tasks including managing vessel/container arrivals communications and day-to-day relationships with key partners, as per the Zespri requirements and in line with “Duty of Care” deliverables. 
  • Zespri Intercheck / Supplier Accountability (Quality Assurance) and quality/condition checking - training, auditing and monitoring 3PL checking staff to ensure quality checking activities and reporting is carried out as per Zespri standards and in line with Supplier Accountability requirements. 
  • Analysis of quality data of Intercheck / Supplier Accountability and condition checking - daily monitoring and reporting of quality results and appropriate action taken towards inventory management. 
  • Inventory Risk - monitoring and active management of the relationship between stock levels with age/risk of stock and ensuring Pallet Priority Status (PPS) is accurately reported, applied and utilized. 
  • Oversight of Operations - ensuring that 3PLs execute retail repack operations effectively, efficiently and in line with Zespri guidelines and actively monitoring fruit loss, quality assessments, input of costs with a focus on the productivity and efficiency of operations to achieve budget targets.   
  • Work with NZKH and 3PL teams to coordinate regional container arrivals, scheduling, clearance, discharge, drayage, deliveries and to ensure product quality by. 

Who are you?

 

We are looking for a strong team player who has a strong knowledge of inventory management and warehouse management systems. With strong relationship building skills, the successful candidate will also have: 

 

  • 5+ years in a production, logistics/transportation, inventory or warehouse management role (team lead or supervisor). 
  • A solid understanding and experience with Food Quality and Safety System, HACCP, GMP.  
  • The ability to work well with people. Must be patient but decisive/persuasive with strong communication skills. 
  • Capability to gain the confidence of a wide range of individuals but specifically customers, service providers, management and staff. 
  • Strong written and verbal English skills with Spanish being advantageous. 
  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain/Logistics or Business/Commercial Management preferred.

  • The base salary for this position is between USD 84,000 and USD 110,000 plus a performance-based short-term incentive scheme (for employees who meet the eligibility criteria) and benefits. Please note that individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, performance and work location.
