About The Role

 

The role supports the Regional Director- Supply Chain (with close engagement with the sales and finance teams) to plan, coordinate and optimize fruit ordering, arrivals, inventory and customer supply in an evolving seasonal supply context.

 

Main areas of action of the role include 

  • Lead a Supply Chain team
  • Supply Chain Management 
  • Operational Excellence
  • Operations Planning including North America SAP order management and invoicing 
  • Ownership of the importation and arrivals documentation processes and procedures to facilitate the transaction & logistics flow
  • Inventory reporting and tracking along with critical analysis of sales and shipping data 

Accountabilities

Logistics & Distribution 

 

•    Manage the end to end supply chain strategy specific to service levels, inventory, warehousing, port of entry, and transportation, etc.
•    Identify gaps (current or future) in logistics operation capabilities, then propose and execute solutions to address them.
•    Mange the relationship with service partners and material suppliers. Monitor and control suppliers to ensure services levels meet agreed targets (cost, quality, service and alignment).
•    Design, generate and analyze reports and KPIs to improve operations and inform business decision making.
•    Responsible for developing and building high-performance teams and establishing objectives congruent with the business goals.
•    Establish business unit, team and individual expectations for performance, efficiency, throughput and quality
•    Regularly review key performance metrics and manage trends that out of target
•    Ensure cost control initiatives and measures exist that optimize financial performance
•    Champion continuous improvement efforts and drive the implementation of value-added supply chain management projects.
•    Responsible for leading all activities of inventory accuracy including: demand and forecast planning, change management, and obsolescence management.


Integrated Business Planning and Order Management  


•    Advise and assist with market requirements and technical considerations (e.g. import permits, market requirements for document segregation)
•    Monitoring and reporting on the status of shipments and clearance process to maintain full visibility of arrivals
•    Central co-ordination and management of audit process around AMS inspection
•    Systems entry around sales order confirmation, inventory arrivals, good issue process and invoicing (SAP management) 
•    Manage, track and facilitate all airfreight orders for the market


Regional Inventory Control


•    Monitor inventory levels by location (USA and Canada) and ensure proper rotation and storage
•    Manage the processing of pallet selection for sales order transfers including overseeing the pick pallet selection to ensure customer satisfaction and the prevention of quality claims
•    Support production work order coordination for in-market packing
•    Audit and analyse supplier accountability data to ensure proper reporting and required actions are performed 
•    Maintain oversight of regional fruit quality including condition checking systems 
•    Fruit Quality Reporting and Analysis of Fruit Loss/Quality Claims. Reconciliation liaison with supplier and accounting on validation of claims in addition to facilitation of approval process of claims. Monitors fruit loss provision based on key performance indicators as reported from distribution partners, internal audits, and contractual terms relative to the claims process.

Market Access and FSMA 


•    Administration of FSMA documentation and regulations 
•    Work with NZ compliance team to ensure all customer regulations and requirements met 
•    Administration of all recall and crisis management process through documentation and communication throughout the teams

 

Packaging Materials Provision 


•    Work with vendors for supply of in-market packaging materials, coordinating with marketing 
•    Plan and order required materials to align to the production plan  
•    Responsibilities for North American Packaging. Lead RFP process with packaging vendors, analyse and create competitive pricing model to establish industry benchmark to support North America cost saving, supplier management and quarterly business review process to ensure service level agreements and cost models align with supplier agreement, packaging automation initiatives with distribution partners focused on North American cost savings and continuous improvement.

 

Projects


•    Support the global Supply Chain projects, representing North America as required.
•    Support Regional Director-Supply Chain with key performance indicators and scorecard standardization for the market, management of operating budget as it pertains to repack handling/level of effort, in region freight/transportation, continuous improvement initiatives focused on increased capacity and economies of scale in operating partners facilities

Qualifications

•    Bachelors degree in related field of study (desired)
•    At least five years’ experience in demand and/or supply planning, or an operational function related to planning, procurement, importing and/or warehouse
•    Strong process management and development mind-set, with an emphasis on quality and timely outcomes and ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
•    Strong analytical skills for the transparent breakdown and understanding of various forms of information, and ultimately aid good judgement and decision-making
•    Effective interpersonal skills, to build long-term working relationships at all levels and gain clear agreement and commitment from others
•    Advanced planning and organizing skills, including resource planning and performance monitoring 
•    Well-developed presentation skills, with the ability to express information and key points of an argument clearly while responding quickly to the reactions and feedback of a given audience;
•    Ability to apply specialist and detailed expertise, develop that knowledge and share it with others in order to enhance the competent operations of multiple functions
•    A proven track record in process management
