Reporting to the Head of NZ Supply, the Supply Planning Manager is a senior leadership role within the Planning and Supply team and influential within the NZ Supply Chain team.  This role is primarily responsible for owning the ‘full season picture’ of the NZ Supply function and is integral in ensuring the successful packing and delivery of Kiwifruit from NZ to our global markets.  

 

The Supply Planning Manager will collaborate with industry groups to share supply, demand, inventory, and planning information and use industry relationships to build optimal supply plans and influence industry activities. This role is also responsible for developing and maintaining Supply Planning rules within the contractual framework, and leading and managing negotiations with key stakeholders. 

 

Key Accountabilities include:

 

Leading the Planning Team to deliver the in-season Supply Plans and positively influence the Sales & Operations Planning process

  • Provide industry leadership to develop optimal season supply plans for each fruit group by individual supplier, considering strategy, risks, opportunities, and issue resolution.
  • Generate and own Supplier compliance against Supply Plans, continuously reviewing and optimising to meet market demand.
  • Assist in developing market allocation and phased demand plans by providing supply constraint data.
  • Lead Supply Network Planning/Integrated Business Planning function for Supply Chain, ensuring the S&OP process is forward-thinking and effective in identifying risk and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement performance targets and measures.
  • People management including performance management, coaching, development and recruitment.

 

Contribute positively as a leader of the Planning & Supply and NZ Supply Leadership Teams

  • Provide leadership and positively influence the operational, strategic, and people aspects of the NZ Supply team.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement, drive efficiency, and optimise processes within Planning & Supply, while developing, and empowering the Planning team.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with a tertiary qualification in Commerce of Supply Chain Management with at least 5-7 years’ experience in a commercial / S&OP environment. You will also have: 

 

  • Experience and a thorough understanding of the Kiwifruit industry
  • Detailed understanding about business and logistics optimisation, constraints models and scenario modelling
  • Excellent working knowledge of IT packages, SAP, Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
  • Sound communication and presentation skills.
