He aha te mahi? What's the role?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Trainer & Competency Assessor to join our Quality Assurance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract (immediate start). This hybrid role is all about building capability across our operational quality teams – increasing our capacity to train, coach, assess and sign off Product Assessors and related roles, while supporting increased product and grade audit requirements across the season.

You’ll ensure people are trained to current specifications and procedures, assessed as competent against required audit scopes, and that evidence and records are maintained to meet internal standards and (where applicable) external regulatory expectations.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver classroom, practical and on-the-job training for Product Assessors and Quality Assessors.
  • Build structured onboarding and training plans, providing coaching to close capability gaps.
  • Conduct competency and proficiency assessments, completing evidence-based sign-off with auditable records.
  • Support increased audit volume through observations, verification, follow-up assessments and continuous improvement.

Ko wai koe? Who are you?

To be successful, you’ll bring a mix of quality/operational know-how, strong training capability, and the confidence to make fair, evidence-based competency decisions. You’ll also be comfortable working in a fast-paced seasonal environment with time in the field and travel to sites as required.

  • Experience delivering engaging training (classroom, practical and on-the-job) and coaching individuals.
  • Sound assessment/audit mindset with strong documentation and record-keeping discipline.
  • Industry quality experience, with a strong technical understanding of quality standards and specifications, and the ability to apply them consistently.
  • Organised, adaptable and confident using Microsoft tools (Word, Forms, Excel, Outlook) to manage plans and records.
