This 15 month fixed-term Maturity Support Specialist role is key to supporting our world-class Maturity Clearance System (MCS). As a Maturity Support Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our MCS operations, ensuring smooth clearance processes and exceptional support for growers, postharvest, and internal teams.
Key accountabilities include:
- Rapidly resolving grower and postharvest issues at first contact using your detailed knowledge of Zespri’s business processes
- Updating process documentation and providing ongoing support throughout the maturity season
- Triaging customer queries and escalating when needed
- Delivering training and troubleshooting support for MCS users
- Building and maintaining rapport with external stakeholders
- Answering incoming calls and resolving stakeholder queries
- Assisting with clearance processes, including Zespri-initiated programmes
- Applying in-depth knowledge of MCS and sampling processes (allocation, cancellations, ‘stop sample’ processes, dispensations)
- Facilitating programmes such as week 7 clearance monitoring, sampling audits, lab proficiencies, system enhancements, and more
- Logging incidents and requests for the MCS system, and supporting testing before deployment
- Providing MCS support training to seasonal staff
- Supporting users with information on orchards, sample areas, block information, and sample results
- Liaising with postharvest and clearance lab representatives, and internal teams
- Maintaining MCS and CRM systems
- Identifying process or system issues and recommending solutions
- Collaborating with other teams to improve end-to-end processes
- Supporting the Maturity Support Manager and assisting other Zespri teams in the off-season

You’re a proactive, customer-focused professional with a knack for problem-solving and a passion for teamwork. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Tertiary education or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong customer focus and a “can do” attitude
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- High attention to detail
- Kiwifruit industry knowledge (strongly preferred)
- Minimum 2–3 years’ customer service experience (preferred)
- Highly developed computer skills (Word, Excel, CRM)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders
- Resilience to change, innovative thinking, and a willingness to take on new tasks
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills
