Reporting to the Investor Relations Manager, we are seeking a detail-driven professional to take ownership of our shareholder transaction processes and reporting. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure the integrity and accuracy of all share transfers, broker requests, and registry alignment - playing a key part in safeguarding Zespri’s regulatory responsibilities.

 

You’ll lead the end-to-end Share reporting sections for our Annual Report, oversee dividend distributions, and manage voting entitlements for our Annual Meeting. Your collaboration with our Share Registry provider is essential to maintaining accurate Shareholder records and being audit ready and driving the ongoing shareholder alignment initiatives that support Zespri’s long-term strategic goals. 

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

  • Shares System Support: Act as the first point of contact for the Shares system, providing issue resolution, training, and support to the GSS team, growers, and shareholders.
    Share Register Management: Maintain and update the share register, ensuring accurate registration and alignment with Zespri’s Share Registry, including voting calculations, dividend distributions and support at the Zespri Annual Meeting.
  • Share Transactions & Broker Liaison: Validate and authorise share transactions and provide essential support to approved brokers for successful execution.
    Annual Meeting Coordination: Collaborate with the Legal, Finance, Tours & Events, Communication and Finance teams along with the Share Registry to prepare and deliver documentation for the Annual Meeting and Annual Report.
  • Shareholder Alignment Initiatives: Drive ongoing improvements in shareholder alignment initiatives, internal reporting requirement and system enhancements.
  • Director & Staff Share Trading: Oversee and manage share trading processes for directors and staff, including liaison with Zespri directors.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate responses and maintain clear communication with shareholders, internal teams, and external stakeholders such as NZKGI and KNZ.
  • Grower Education & Support: Act as a key point of contact for growers, providing guidance and support on training and educational initiatives related to Zespri shares. Facilitate understanding of shareholding processes and entitlements ensuring growers are well-informed and confident in their participation.

With a natural ability to build strong relationships, collaborate effectively across teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment, you will also meet the following criteria:

 

  • 3+ years’ experience in Investor Relations, Share Registry, Financial Services, Governance, or Company Secretariat (preferred)
  • Legal qualification (or similar) is an advantage
  • Solid understanding of capital structures, regulatory disclosure, and co-operative/shareholder ownership models
  • Experience and confidence engaging with key stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, CRM tools and business system platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information
  • Strong initiative and sound judgment, especially when handling confidential or high-stakes data
  • Expertise in managing stakeholder expectations and navigating sensitive discussions
  • Logical thinking, with outstanding organisational and time management skills
  •  Proven ability to work independently with a proactive, customer-focused approach
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing project scopes, regulations, and industry expectations.
