About The Role



Head of Grower Experience Transformation

This newly created position will be responsible for leading the transformation programme within the Grower, Industry and Sustainability (GIS) team to enhance the grower experience with Zespri. This role will be critical in leading the transformation of the interface that Zespri has with our Growers. 

This highly strategic role will initiate programmes and projects that support this transformation.  It will lead agile work teams and build capability in service design approaches to lead a human-centric way of working.  





This role will work with all levels of the organisation including senior executives to ensure delivery of best practice grower experience design, enabling technology and information systems and processes. As a senior leader within GIS this role will lead, inspire and manage the Program project teams so that they are respected as engaged and high performing enablers of the Zespri strategy and operating model.


  • Lead and manage the overall Grower Experience programme of work, which includes Grower Enablement projects.
  • Build and develop human-centric ways of working where our people are supported to approach work and are organised in a way which enables them to put growers at the heart of all decision making.
  • Responsible for all transformational projects, including project planning, resource allocation, steering committee updates and team organizational structure management.
  • Oversee the team of subject matter experts, project support roles, and other team members that together are focused on delivering strategic project change initiatives.
  • Lead the voice of the grower function within Zespri, with supporting processes and technology. 
  • Lead the grower technology strategy whereby the Grower Experience Programmes are supported by a technology strategy which provides clear direction, ownership and change management. 
  • Make recommendations clearly linked to the organization's strategy and financial goals.
  • Manage project communications, scope, risk and issue resolution.


Qualifications & Experience


  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Project Management Qualifications, PMI or Prince2 certification advantageous.
  • 10+ years’ experience in strategic project management leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence change across complex business issues and build pathway solutions.
  • Ability to analyse and understand ambiguous and complex issues, and translate these into business opportunities and action.
  • Experience in working with executive teams and at Board Director level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to speak to technical-level staff and summarize communications for executive consumption.
  • Excellent project management skills, and experience with Agile, Service Design.
  • Ability to analyze, understand and effectively communicate between business requirements and technical design and implementation.
