He aha te mahi? What's the role?
We’re looking for 14 enthusiastic Fruit Inspectors to join our team for the kiwifruit shipping season (March–November). This is a fixed-term opportunity with guaranteed hours and the chance to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment at the Port of Tauranga and local cool stores.
- Contract: Fixed term, March–November
- Hours: 40 hours per fortnight guaranteed
- Location: Port of Tauranga & industry cool stores
- Schedule: Flexible hours, including weekends and early mornings (from 6:30am), based on shipping needs.
What you'll do:
- Inspect kiwifruit consignments to ensure they meet Zespri’s high standards
- Maintain accurate audit records of inspection findings
- Identify and report fruit quality and food safety issues
- Operate electric pallet jiffy (training provided)
- Stack/de-stack pallets and use strapping tools
- Adhere to health & safety policies
- Support ad hoc tasks and projects as needed
Ko wai koe? Who are you?
- Have good numeracy skills and attention to detail
- Can write clearly and accurately
- Possess basic computer skills
- Are eager to learn Zespri fruit grade standards
- Physically fit for hands-on work
- Prior experience with pallet jiffy or kiwifruit industry is a plus, but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety is desirable
