He aha te mahi? What's the role?

 

As an EDI Specialist in our Planning & Supply team, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and seamless flow of Zespri’s global inventory data. You’ll support and maintain critical SAP and EDI systems, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and help drive operational excellence across our supply chain. This is a 12-month fixed-term position reporting to the EDI Manager, based in Mount Maunganui. 

 

Key responsibilities include: 

 

  • Monitoring and supporting SAP, web services, and interface functionality, coordinating global support for issue resolution. 
  • Managing industry data across multiple platforms (Checkpoint, wharf systems, Supplier Inventory, Traceability EAN). 
  • Providing Material Master and SAP data table support, resolving data errors and maintaining EDI data standards. 
  • Coordinating end-to-end SAP processes for local markets, including order creation, checkpoint, and invoicing. 
  • Supporting global Master Data Management (ZGS) for supplier inventory and checkpoint data. 
  • Delivering industry reporting, presentations, and ensuring data integrity for internal/external reporting. 
  • Planning and activating season start/end tasks and managing mapping relationships with stakeholders. 
  • Providing user acceptance testing for master data and business rule changes. 
  • Managing global data changes, including shipment reversals, and offering year-round support (including out-of-hours).

We’re looking for an organized and detail-oriented professional with a strong technical focus and a “can do” attitude. You bring experience in data management, ideally within the kiwifruit, logistics, or supply chain sectors, and are confident using systems such as SAP, Word, and Excel

 

You will also have:  

 

  • Highly developed computer skills (Word, Advanced Excel, SAP).  
  • Strong people and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical thinking and issue resolution abilities.  
  • Energy, diligence, tenacity, and self-motivation.  
  • The ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Excellent time management and a structured approach to handling competing priorities.  
  • A collaborative working style that fosters rapport with internal and external stakeholders

 

Preferred qualifications and experience:  

 

  • Tertiary qualification preferred (not essential); kiwifruit industry experience advantageous.
  • SAP experience is an advantage.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in the kiwifruit, logistics, or supply chain industry.
