At Zespri, our global reputation for delivering the world’s best kiwifruit depends on an efficient, innovative supply chain. The Cool Chain team is at the heart of this mission, ensuring our fruit arrives in top condition to markets around the world, 12 months of the year.

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Data Technician to support our fruit conditioning programme from February to November 2026.  If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working with data, and want to make a real impact on the quality of our product, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key accountabilities include:

• Issue timely and accurate instructions to vessels and carriers regarding cargo condition changes, such as temperature adjustments or ripening gas release, to protect fruit quality.
• Monitor, assess, and report on storage and transit conditions before, during, and after each voyage, documenting discrepancies and escalating issues as needed. 
• Maintain data integrity by validating information regularly, correcting errors promptly, and ensuring accurate, up-to-date records for effective monitoring and decision-making. 
• Process and upload data into relevant systems, making it readily available for analysis and reporting. 
• Generate clear, insightful reports on conditioning activities, highlighting issues, trends, and recommendations for improvement. 
• Support the broader fruit conditioning programme by facilitating communication, managing data, and enabling smooth collaboration across functions.

You’re a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about ensuring data accuracy and operational excellence. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• Tertiary qualification or relevant experience in data processing, administration, or supply chain management.
• Proven expertise in cleaning, validating, and reporting on data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presenting findings.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Power BI or SAP (advantageous, but not essential if you’re willing to learn).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices (beneficial).
• Quick adaptability to new systems and processes.
• A proactive, results-focused attitude and a positive approach to challenges.
• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when required.
• A current driver’s licence.
