As part of the Accounts Payable team within Finance Shared Services, the Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for the effective and timely resolution of accounts payable issues, and payment of all approved invoices. Working alongside other Accounts Payable Officers this role will be involved in the completion of Accounts Payable task including processing invoices, making payments, follow-up and resolution of queries and exceptions, and liaising with business users and vendors as required. 

 

Your key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Responsibility for key AP activities including processing invoices, travel and credit card expenses, managing vendor payments, resolving queries, maintaining AP data quality, performing reconciliations, improving AP processes, and supporting the Shared Services team.
  • Collaborate with Finance Master Data to monitor and maintain quality vendor master data, responding to and correcting bank rejection files, and resolving AP data issues. 
    Reporting and reconciliation of AP information on a monthly basis.
  • Support continuous improvement of the AP function by enhancing AP processes and tools, continuously seek to improve cost effectiveness and efficiency, and engage in projects to improve AP through User Acceptance Testing.
  • Positively contribute as a member of the Shared Services team by assisting with Finance tasks, implementing and improving Finance policies and procedures, maintaining process documentation, participating in team meetings and behaving consistently with our Zespri values.

 

This is a fixed term role until March 2026.

The successful candidate will have:

 

  • A minimum of four years high school education with further tertiary studies in business/accounting.
  • Previous general accounting experience (AP, AR, general ledger journals and reconciliations) gained in a commercial enterprise.
  • An understanding of accounting processes and procedures.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft products, and medium Excel experience.
  • Experience in using SAP or other major corporate ERP system.
