He aha te mahi? What's the role?

The Strategic Projects Manager position supports the business by leading the development and delivery of Zespri’s Northern Hemisphere Supply (ZGS), and strategic projects required to achieve Northern hemisphere Supply goals in order to sustain the 12-month category marketing program and accelerate growth to meet supply demands including commercialization plans for new cultivars and growing regions.


The responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development, engagement and execution of key strategic projects required to achieve NHS supply goals, including:
  • In conjunction with the ZGS leadership team coordinate and facilitate the ZGS strategy development, focusing on long term strategic objectives and short term prioritisation.
  • In conjunction with the  team lead the ZGS input into Zespri five year planning and supply projections.
  • Support the commercialization of New Cultivar Development including but not limited to: commercial structure, procurement model and partner selection
  • Leading and Overseeing the commercialization of existing cultivar portfolio into new growing areas, regions or business models.
  • Coordinate the ongoing development of Greek precommercial trials in conjunction with OPC team
  • Lead Sustainability direction for ZGS

This is an awesome opportunity for a talented individual who has experience leading significant programmes/projects that have a critical impact on business growth and operations. You will also have:


  • Strategic Acumen ability to craft effective strategies based on rational and critical analysis of risks and opportunities 
  • Business Acumen thorough understanding of business process architecture and ability to develop, deploy and utilise business performance measures to improve results
  • Multi-stakeholder facilitation, communication and management
  • Project Management tools utilisation
  • Agri-business thorough understanding of the agri-business sector with experience of production and supply models in the premium produce category
  • Change management experience
  • PMP, PMI or equivalent will represent an advantage
  • Fluent English and Italian. French and/or Greek will represent an advantage

  • Competitive overall remuneration package, including a Short-Term Incentive scheme opportunity OR The base salary for this position is between {90% and 115% of the pay band} plus a performance-based short-term incentive scheme (for employees who meet the eligibility criteria) and benefits.
