He aha te mahi? What's the role?


The Data & Insight Manager plays a crucial role in the creation and implementation of Northern Hemisphere Supply Data strategy, extracting valuable insights from data and enabling a data-driven continuous improvement approach and decision making. The role plays an active role in the training and leveraging of the existing team members capabilities to create a data-driven culture and a Northern Hemisphere Supply data centre of excellence. 


The role can be based in Aprilia or Bologna.


Data Strategy & Roadmap

  • Support the Head of Innovation and Productivity to assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI, data and analytics development in conjunction with end users, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Advocates for ZGS data goals among the Analytics & Data Enablement team

User Community

  • Act as ambassador for BI, data and analytic benefits across the organization
  • Localize and implement Zespri’s BI Training Program for ZGS locations; provide technical support as necessary

Delivery of Business Insight & Analytics

  • Work with Zespri project managers & Digital team to contribute to Datalake and data platform deliverables
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide them actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to prepare data for machine learning and other analytical modeling.

This is an awesome opportunity for a talented individual who has 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Analyst and has a passion for creating value for the business. You will also have:


  • Comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability with data design tools.
  • Proven experience in common data analysis languages such as R, SQL,  Apache Spark and Python programming.
  • Capacity to organise data analysis work in notebooks (e.g. Jupyter notebook or Databricks) as well as storage repository (e.g Gitlab)
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
  • Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of reporting tools such as PowerBI and/or SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field, PHd a plus
