The Sales Performance Manager is responsible for coordinating the seasonal planning and delivery cycle for the Sales team in Zespri Europe. This role is a key driver of the success of the Sales function, ensuring that sales forecasts, promotional plans, and market priorities are fully integrated into planning processes to maximise volume and value and elevate internal cross-functional collaboration and external customer satisfaction.

As the primary planning partner for Sales, the role will collaborate across multiple teams, including market teams, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Support, Finance, and Marketing. The role’s leadership will be critical in aligning priorities, coordinating inputs, resolving conflicts, and maintaining transparency across all stakeholders to ensure seamless execution. Your focus will be on enabling sales growth while reducing fruit loss and claims, improving customer experience, and continuously enhancing planning processes.

 

The role combines strong commercial acumen with solid cross-functional understanding to ensure market needs are met while supporting product availability, minimizing cost of quality (Fruit Loss & Claims), and enhancing both internal processes and customer-facing interactions.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Season Planning & Delivery
- Lead season planning with markets, ensuring local proposals are in line with seasonal regional priorities and guidance; consolidate relevant bottom-up input (e.g. promotional activities, customer priorities) and ensure it’s reflected in the IBP and financial snapshots.

Insights & Reporting
- Generate actionable insights on critical supply and demand situations, highlighting risks and opportunities that require proactive management to enhance value and ensure season delivery.
- Track competition across markets, gathering intelligence and providing actionable outlooks based on analysis.

Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the single point of contact for the Sales function in operational matters with IBP, Supply Chain, and Customer Support teams.

Financial Stewardship & Customer Funds
- Govern the Customer Funds budget, ensuring structural and tactical spend drives maximum ROI vs. defined plans and empowering the business to deliver the season in volume and value terms.
- Make season-by-season Tactical Customer Funds proposals, ensuring volume and value delivery and ROI maximization.

We are looking for an analytical professional with 7-10 years of experience in Sales, S&OP, Demand Supply Planning or Commercial Planning. You will also meet the following criteria:

 

  • Preferably possess a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Agribusiness, or related field.
  • Proven track record of leading seasonal or campaign-based planning in complex, fast-moving markets.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in budget management, reporting, and customer investment planning.
  • Solid knowledge of customer contracts, terms of sale, and customer funds governance.
  • Experience in data/systems enablement to support planning and reporting processes.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills. Ability to coordinate key stakeholders (e.g. local markets) and them driving collective decisions that support the region.
  • Experience with forecasting and planning systems (e.g., SAP IBP, Anaplan, OMP, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
