Reporting to the Head of Marketing Europe, the Media & Digital Strategy Manager is responsible for leading the media and digital strategy and planning for the ENA region. This role will support and provide guidance to the local marketing teams on campaign media target setting, touchpoint strategy and priorities, and planning. This also includes the development of an always on regional social media strategy and manages digital assets as the Zespri website. This also includes driving media innovation to amplify impact and shaping future data-driven marketing strategies.

This role will also be responsible for supporting the elevation of marketing capability through enabling the sharing and embedding of internal and external best practices and defining ways of working across the ENA markets. This role will be working closely with the regional Media agency hubs and digital agency. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

- Lead the development and implementation of channel-led media planning framework and investment principles fit for Zespri across EU markets.

  • Work with EU media agency to define the final media framework for the EU core & build markets and deliver support where needed for the NA markets in line with market development framework, marketing and business objectives.
  • Define investment allocation principles to drive media efficiency and effectiveness.

- Co-Development integrated campaigns in a timely manner for both NZ and ZGS seasons across EU.  

  • Partner closely with the EU brand development manager and local marketing managers to deliver integrated media, digital and content plans to deliver our brand communication strategy for all EU markets.
  • Elevate the impact of media through the development of positive brand-building experiences that integrates paid, owned, and earned ecosystem and support the local markets with the localized implementation.
  • Work closely with local teams and agencies to ensure feasibility and execution of plan with excellence within budget and in a timely manner across markets, in a way that is relevant to local media and channel environments. 


- Define media metrics and success measures to increase effectiveness and efficiency of Zespri’s media spending.

  • Consistent and measurable KPIs that are aligned with all key stakeholders.
  • Track and review KPIs regularly.
  • Identify insights and lead the continuous refinement of Zespri’s media plans. 

- Manage regional digital assets e.g. website 

- Own the regional media and digital agency relationship

  • Be the point of contact for EU regional media and digital agencies.
  • Lead the briefing process and output development to ensure smooth alignment with all key stakeholders and timely quality executions.
  • Lead ENA media and digital agencies reviews with local marketing managers. 


- Capability building

  • Be the champion for integrated media and digital excellence across the entire region, through sharing and embedding of internal and external best practices.
  • Support head of Marketing ENA in identifying capability gaps and plans pertaining to media and digital.

We are looking for an individual with 8 years in a media agency or media operations role from the client-side with experience in working across multiple markets. You will also meet the following criteria:

 

  • Regional exposure covering Europe with experience in media planning, buying and optimization across traditional and digital channels
  • Experience in driving digital transformation by introducing new innovations in platforms, building adtech capability, and establishing measurement principles.
  • Experience in driving an integrated channel ecosystem across paid, owned, and earned
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders (including senior stakeholders) across different functions to build influence and drive action.
  • Strong project management capability to ensure timelines, budget, and deliverables are met.
  • Strong communication skills and able to articulate directions in a clear and concise manner.Expertise in demand planning, preferably in FMCG, retail or fresh produce sectors.
